Drop in home-ownership costs offers little help for Metro Vancouverites

Price declines eased the burden of home ownership a little bit in Metro Vancouver, according to RBC’s latest Housing Trends report, but that barely dented the unaffordability of property in Canada’s most expensive market. RBC’s third-quarter housing trends and affordability report, released Wednesday, showed Metro Vancouver saw the “most significant improvement” from the previous quarter in its index measure, thanks largely to declines in average prices in the city’s slowing market.
