Charges laid in Burnaby murder

March 17, 2012

Second-degree murder charges have been laid in the death of a man whose body was found badly burned in Burnaby.
20-year-old Branson Sanders’ body was found in some bushes near Fareham Avenue and Elwell Road back in December.
But police don’t believe that’s where he was killed — only where his remains were left.
Sergeant Jennifer Pound with the Integrated Homicide Investigation Team says Sanders was allegedly murdered at a home in Surrey, at 55 Avenue and 180 Street.

“We also believe that there were a number of people at a party at that residence and we’re asking that those people come forward.”

Charged are 19-year-old Burnaby man Shakib Shakib, and 19-year-old Brandon Nandon of Surrey.
